Prof. Dr. Cristiane Luisa Jost (Former Capes PhD Fellow, PROBRAL exchange project)

Cristiane L. Jost visited Jacobs University as a Capes Ph.D. Fellow (09/2006 – 08/2007). She currently works as a professor in the Department of Chemistry, at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) in Florianópolis, Brazil.

Current position:

Faculty – Chemistry Department – Federal University of Santa Catarina. Research leader – “ampere – Laboratório de Plataformas Eletroquímicas”. Education: Ph.D. -Analytical Chemistry (UFSM, 2010). Experience at Jacobs University Bremen (JUB) as a Capes Ph.D. Fellow (09/2006 – 08/2007) under Prof. Dr. Andrea Koschinsky’s supervision. Onboard chemical analysis of seawater and hydrothermal fluids at the Logatchev hydrothermal field during two research cruises (HYDROMAR III and HYDROMAR V, 2006-2007) representing JUB. Post-doc fellow at Federal University of Rio Grande (FURG, 2010).

Electrochemistry. Electroanalytical methods. Chemically modified electrodes. Nanomaterials-based electrochemical detection. Development of electrochemical sensors for organic compounds and HMIs sensing. Clinical and environmental applications.
