Iron’s irony – New Review on the Fate of Hydrothermal Iron Published in Nature Communications

Hydrothermal vents are a major source of iron to the ocean but the fate of this hydrothermally-sourced iron is affected by a variety of complex geochemical processes. A new study recently published in nature communications earth and environment by a group of collaborators including Andrea Koschinsky reviews the literature and new data to shed light on the transport and availability of hydrothermal iron.
